When it rains, it pours...... literally. {a myspace original}

Current mood:pissed off
Ok... so today was the day that the old men leave for their annual golf outing.  So of course, I'm not looking forward to being alone with the kids for a week... but I'm dealing.  We went to my nephew's birthday party today, had good food and some fun.  After being gone for about 8 hrs I cart the kids home solo.  As I'm coming up to the door, arms full, kids at my ankles, I hear Leena barking.
To my surprise, I open the door to be greeted by one of my lovely german shepherds and to a FLOODED BASEMENT.  How f**king nice.  Immediately I think that the sewer backed up into the basement, and I want to scream.  Nothing like shit floating around your basement.  I call Brian.... No signal, goes to voicemail.  Call the in laws....  Call my friend Dawn...  I investigate more to see that it seems to be fresh water.  Where could it have come from?  And why didn't it drain?  So as I'm pacing around outside, basically helpless and livid all at the same time, I happen to walk and look out front.  Here I see the super cute Thomas the Train sprinkler.....  on.  Probably on for hours.  Probably the cause of this disgusting backup of water in my basement.  So, I turn it off, and immediately swear in my head at Braden.  He likes the hose, and likes to turn it on.  Three years old.... twice now, I can say that he's lucky to be alive.
So, the carpet is saturated with about 2 inches of water. We have two drains in the basement.... Neither of which is draining water.  How nice.  I'm really impressed at this point.  There's like 4 loads of laundry to be done...  soaked on the floor in a pool.  My chair and couch, sitting in water.  And I'm here alone.  No husband to bitch, yet do all the work.  It's left to me to solve this stupid dilemma.
In laws come over, hang out laundry on the fence.  If you know where I live... its nice to have all of your dirty laundry literally out for everyone to see; right along Merriman.  F**k me.  Try to shop vac... this will take forever.  We have to lug the damn full thing up the steps to dump it.  What a job.  Call the plumber..... no answer, probably won't get a call til the morning.  Can't drain the tub from the kids bath, it will just increase the water level in my basement.  At this point, I could use a stiff drink and some sleeping pills!!  haha (ok, no pills the drink will do.)
Brian calls me, after Dawn's many attempts at calling different cell phone numbers for me.  His first voiced concern after I told him the amount of damage... "so my bar isn't damaged then, right?"  Nice f**king comment.  I see what you are concerned about.  After that comment, he tried to make it up with asking about the furnace and the dog room.  Good cover, but no cigar.  Jerk.
So... there could be more to this story.  Stay tuned.  Now back to your regularly scheduled program.
G'night.

Deep questions of nothing.... {a myspace original}

Current mood:curious
So, I admit...  my mind wanders.  It wanders to places that I "think" I'd like to go, things I "think" I'd like to try, and in turn, raises questions about people.
Have you ever sat on the fence as far as opinions go, and not know REALLY how you feel?  It's nothing negative, but something you have conflicting feelings about.  Maybe it's the a good thing, or maybe it could really change things negatively.....  How do you know when to take the step in the direction to commit one way or another?
Deep questions of nothing.....  Nothing I can share at the moment.  Or maybe never.
I choose to live my life, not necessarily seeking approval from everyone, but yet wanting to keep people happy.  Including my own happiness.  Maybe its best left as a fantasy.  Fantasies do make life more interesting.
Maybe I should just sleep on it.

I did it! {a myspace original}

Current mood:tired
I bought my Canon 30D SLR!  Yay, now I have a kick ass digital camera!  Time to start playing with it!  Someday it could make me a rich photographer.  Probably many, many years from now.  But its never too early to start!

permanent markers and kids don't mix. {a myspace original}

Current mood:frustrated
"Hey, Darcy, what's up?"
"Nothing, just finished scrubbing red permanent marker from every surface in my kitchen."
"Wow, that sucks."
"Yes it does.  My two year old is lucky to be alive."
"Oh, so Braden found a marker, huh?"
"Yeah...."
"How'd you get it off?"
"A sponge and Barkeeper's Friend."
"Wow."

I'm gonna call them... LEACHES! {a myspace original}

Current mood:cranky
Ok, so I'm going to make this brief.  If you read my blog... wonderful.  It's not really that exciting.  If you know me, post a comment if you'd like.  If you don't know me, and you are just posting so that you can leave your html tag to pull people to another website STOP IT.   I will erase the blog, which will in turn, erase your SH*T from my page.
Just do me this little courtesy.

French Tips {a myspace original}

Current mood:relaxed
So, here I am...  watching the Kid's Choice Awards on Nick...  My kids are asleep, and I finally have time to make my toes cute.
Well, there is some crap that I could vent on, but it wouldn't keep with my "relaxed" attitude.  So I'm just going to sit here, sip my sprite and raspberry vodka, and chill while I have the chance.
So this is boring...  Hope I didn't waste your time.  Have a good nite.

What a whirlwind its been. {a myspace original}

Current mood:blah
Ok, life has kinda sucked since being back from Mexico.  February 20th, my Grandpa passed away.  One day before Soren's 1st birthday.  So, just being home about a week, and starting to get back into the swing of things, I had to pack up and head back home to Minnesota for the funeral.

It was especially hard for my mom, all of us grand kids struggled with it because we were so close to my grandparents on the Stark side.  Grandpa was the coolest.  Not many people ride their motorcycle until they are 80.  But he did.  Gramps, you are a bad ass!

As we booked it to Mn, we got in just in time for the blizzard of the season.  So I was home for a whole like 24 hours before it started to snow like mad.  In fact, they postponed the funeral.  When have you ever heard of that happening?  So instead of Saturday, it was Monday.  Which meant a whole extra day (with no pay, might I add) in Lewiston.  I had plans of getting together with the pals, but....  alas, not happening.  Winona got something like 30 inches when it was all over.  I said pray for snow, but I didn't expect 30 inches all at once!

We ended up leaving right after the funeral and drove straight through to Michigan.  The awesome thing is that we made it in like 8 and a half hours!  Gotta love I-pass and no traffic in Chicago.
So.. I'm back to it.  Trying to get excited about work again.  My house is a disaster, laundry piled to the ceiling, and here I sit.... on myspace.

Oh happy days.
So until next time America.....
Seacrest out.

One time, in Mazatlan... {a myspace original}

1st Blog...
So here I am, reliving my trip to Mexico, and wishing I could go back.  If you haven't been to Mazatlan, I'd say go.  I went with family, people that are almost family, and people that can be considered family (that's you E).

We had a muy bueno time.  There are stories in Nicole's travel journal that will live for ages.  Over all I'd say it was a successful trip.  Only a few of us barfed (which includes my sons, He Waste, ahem... and me) for different reasons.  Ok, Chris and I for the same reason.  Mas Tequila!

So, the days were mostly spent on the beach, with some cold and frosty drink in hand.  Pitchers of Margaritas, Pina Coladas and Buckets of Pacificos were the drinks of choice for the week.  With a little bottled water in between.  The ocean was great, waves were stellar toward the end of the week.  I went boogie boarding for the first time, and was only marred by a bruise on my thigh and some major salt water ingestion.  But it was super fun.  Thankfully because of my SPF 50 sunscreen, I was able to enjoy the week with no sunburn and a slight tan.

The nights were spent in a different restaurant every night, with more drinks, tequila poppers and much laughter.  We crashed early most nights because of the fresh air and drinking by the pool and beach all day.  Not to mention the 1-2 hr time difference.
When I have more time I'll put up some pictures (after myspace is done with their maintenance), as for now....

Time for work.. .....  ....................
work.

Didn't miss that while I was sitting on the beach.  In fact, I didn't miss much of anything!
Pray for snow.
