Well that's how it started. It seemed that our little "group" of friends had no where to go this weekend, so at the last minute we threw together a BBQ in our backyard. Worked out great, everyone showed up! Even HEBO! There was food, beer, fun, beer, mosquitoes- oh... and some beer.
the kids played, it stayed mostly dry....
there was even a "Slim-Jim" salute to Macho Man Randy Savage.....
May he R.I.P!
Cuz that's how we roll.... {and we have to at least give Mark crap the once a year we actually see him!}
We avoided the rain and the iffy weather, and had a warm and overcast day to hang out in the back yard and drink in (and around) the Gazebo.
I did leave around 5 to meet up with my girls and do a balloon release for Julie. Jenny, Renee, myself and Heather all {braved} the tornado warnings (hehehehe) and met at the cemetary to take some time to remember our friend(s).

We took a few minutes to write on our balloons before the rain started, took a few quick pictures...
and counted.... 1....2....3....
All the blue ones were for Julie, and we sent up one yellow one that we all wrote on for Jen. Cuz we know that they're up there somewhere together....
No tears were shed, we all smiled and laughed a little, called it a day (cuz the rain sorta started) and left to go back to our respective BBQs... (well, most of us - ahem - Jenny!)
Now we're left to clean up the back yard!
Have a happy and safe Memorial Day!!
Thank those who have served, and continue to fight for our country!
To my cousins Lance and Devin..... Thank you!
